Psychodynamic Therapist
Kate Cook MBACP
I am an experienced and compassionate counsellor dedicated to helping individuals find clarity and self-awareness in the midst of life’s challenges. My journey to becoming a counsellor was sparked by a firsthand realisation of the profound value that talking therapies and safe spaces for reflection and conversation offer. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of providing support for a wide range of issues including bereavement, low self-esteem, depression, addiction and trauma. I have worked with many complex and vulnerable clients and whilst my thinking is rooted in psychodynamic principles, my therapeutic approach is distinctly relational putting the relationship with my clients at the centre of our work together.
Having previously worked in the corporate environment, I understand the internal and external pressures that can impact self-esteem and overall well-being. I offer consistency, confidentiality, reliability, empathy and unwavering ethical standards. My psychodynamic thinking and relational approach allows me to help clients explore how their experiences in childhood and adolescence affect how they respond to events in their everyday lives, all within the context of a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship.
In a world where it can be hard to find a space to think and process, I provide a quiet, safe and non-judgmental environment where we can think about you.

Psychodynamic Counsellor
Sanna Gudgeon
I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I am a BCAP-registered counsellor working with adults with a range of emotional and psychological issues and difficulties.
Sometimes talking about feelings may seem daunting. I provide a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space to talk and explore any difficulties you may be experiencing with no pressure to be anything other than yourself. Whether you come to therapy with a clear sense of what you want to change, or simply with a feeling that something needs to shift, I am here to work alongside you. Through building a trustful therapeutic relationship, together we can make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences, so you can find a way forward.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means I’ll support you to explore how early relationships, and past experiences may be contributing to your feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviour now. There may be things out of your awareness that are painful or keeping you stuck. I will work at your pace to strengthen your sense of self and develop new perspectives. Through greater self-awareness, change and growth become possible.
As well as my private practice, I have experience working for a Hertfordshire based counselling service, working with a wide range of issues. I bring curiosity and care into each session so you can feel heard and supported.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in Education. This background gives me insight into the impact that work related stress, and challenges can have on mental wellbeing, alongside the everyday pressures people face in balancing their professional and personal life.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
Kate Lewis
Hello and welcome. Do you feel anxious, depressed or both? Something needs to change, but you are not sure what? Are you in chronic physical pain, and do you sense this might be exacerbated by stress and anxiety? Perhaps you are wondering whether past experiences are affecting your day-to-day life.
Whatever has brought you here today, I want you to know that this is a safe and confidential space where you can freely explore your emotions without fear of judgment. In therapy, we can explore your past and present experiences, create a sense of safety, and work through any emotional pain. There’s no specific agenda for our sessions — it’s a space for us to reflect and discuss whatever is important to you. Therapy is a collaborative process, so we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. Instead of pushing you out of your comfort zone, we’ll gradually expand it.
I am a registered psychodynamic psychotherapist offering in-person sessions at a confidential consulting room. Online sessions are also available via Zoom.
Please email me in the first instance to book up our initial appointment. From there you can decide whether or not to carry on with me. Prior to this, if you would like. we can arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation where I can answer any questions you may have.

Psychotherapist and Supervisor
Felicity Reed
I’m a highly experienced UKCP accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor, and Clinical Lead for Innovation in the NHS. I’ve been leading and working in the field of mental distress, supporting people to find growth, purpose and meaning in the midst of difficulty – for over a decade.
I have ADHD myself, and first came into therapy because of my own experience of feeling stuck and lost. To be completely honest, I only went into therapy because I was out of clever ideas for avoiding my problems!
Luckily, I had a good therapist. With her, I learned to voice my fears and my truths for the first time, and in doing so, I learned to be increasingly open, humble and curious about the world, and my relationship to it.
It turns out that in general, it is these qualities of openness, humility, honesty and curiosity that form the cornerstone for good mental wellbeing- the qualities that prevent pain from hardening into suffering. We can’t escape a level of pain in this life – but it is the attempts to avoid pain, or disguise it (sometimes because we think it looks like weakness) – that calcify us in unhealthy and unhelpful habits and relationships.
If re-discovering your capacity for curiosity, joy, humility and openness sounds like a journey you’d like to go on – get in touch. Lots of clients come into therapy saying they’re worried about experiencing emotional pain. But although we do acknowledge and explore tough places, therapy is also a place of laughter, play, exploration and discovery – and, as I found: ultimately, the discovery of a you that maybe, you never knew you could be, and a quality of life that you assumed was impossible.

Psychodynamic Therapist
Izzy Ross MBACP
I am an experienced and empathic counsellor, I have trained as a psychodynamic counsellor, but I feel it is important to work in a relational way as I want my clients to feel safe, secure, and able to tell their truth in the counselling space. I work intuitively along side my clients, and work with whatever they bring to the session as you go along your journey more things might arise and we will take it step-by-step together.
I have worked with many clients from 18+ and all have come with a variety of different issues, such as anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, work-related issues, stress, or trauma the list goes on but I feel it is important to go at the client’s pace as being in therapy is not easy. So, I am here to offer my clients a supporting space and allow them to feel heard.
From coming from the childcare sector, I have come to realise how important our early years are for our development and shaping the person we become, with this in mind I feel the work I do with my clients will explore all aspects of their life and try to give more understanding to the present as we can learn a lot from the past.
Your mental health is precious and it is something that many of us put to the bottom of the list, give yourself the space you deserve to think, feel, and understand. As everyone’s mental health matters.
